Old Photography

Here are a few of my favorite old pictures. I need to get back into photography!

Are You A Racist?

If you have read "Blink" then you know what this test is. I took it about 5 minutes ago and it told me that I have a moderate preference for white people over black people. I was immediately confused and ashamed because I have never considered myself a racist. Then I thought back to the book and I remembered that this test was measuring my subconscious thoughts towards race not my conscious feelings. The test is extremely eye opening and shows how much culture and history seep into our subconscious. It is definitely hard not to think of myself as a bad person at the moment but looking at the statistics of the test, I am accompanied by a majority of people. I would recommend taking any of the tests but the race test is especially intriguing. If you really want to learn more about the subconscious then read "Blink" because it is a fabulous book!

Fashion Photography Research

Part of the project was to research mood, location, hair, makeup, trends, fashion photographers, etc... and these are some of the research boards I used.
We had to select a brand to take in a new direction. Free People was my choice because they are so carefree currently it would be fun to make them a bit more edgy. I also have quite a few pieces of Free People clothing that I used in the shoot.

Fashion Photogrpahy Around Leeds

Tanks: Free People
Blazer: Guess
Shoes: BCBG
Shirt: Free People
Dress: Forever 21

You may be wondering why the guy in all of the pictures has his eyes covered and seems to be in a rather undesirable predicament. My theme for the shoot goes along with a major current trend in UK and USA societies. Divorce rates in the US are at an all time high near 50% and the number of single women in the UK has never been higher. As a woman, I obviously side with women, and I thought this shoot would be a fun play on feminism and the current "freemale" trend in society. The pictures below don't necessarily work perfectly with the idea of the shoot but I really like them anyways.
